Depression

With depression your food can be affected because you can use it to control how you are feeling. There are many reasons for being depressed and sometimes when you have for e.g

- Lost a job
- Grieving for a loss
- Overweight
- Under weight

When you have just lost a job that can make you feel fed up and maybe you feel at a loss so you might think of food as a comfort because there is something missing. Or you might go the other way and stop eating.

Grieving for a loss may affect your appetite because your tummy just feels to ill to eat. Grieving can make you depressed and like when you have lost a job your food might go funny.

For what ever reason you are feeling depressed using food for comfort or not eating at all will not help in the long term. You need to try and eat a balanced diet because you are special and God loves you and He wants you to look after yourself too. And the person who died would want you to look after yourself.

Using a Blender
Nearly every day I try and make a healthy fruit cocktail with different fruits and a bit of juice which my hole family likes. It also helps your immune system and if you have a cold fruit juices help combat that too. Even making a nice interesting soup into the blender helps.

Also using a blender is quicker that cutting all the fruit up yourself by hand and when you are making banana milkshakes for you children with ice cream they might enjoy that goodness and you can put a few other fruits into that. My children and husband love it. If you are not able to have milk like me then you can use soy milk with soy ice cream instead.
